§ 54-83. License requirements.

  • (a)

    No solid waste haulers shall do business in the county without first securing a permit from the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management District. Such permit in the county shall be issued from the county director of solid waste.

    (b)

    The license shall be issued, for a period not to exceed one year by the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management Board, who shall have the power to promulgate reasonable rules and regulations consistent with the purposes of this article, the Arkansas Solid Waste Management Act (A.C.A. § 8-6-201 et seq.), and the Arkansas Solid Waste Management Code, including the setting of a fee which shall initially be set annually as follows:

    Noncompacting
     Vehicles
    Compacting Vehicles Fee
    One ton or less $25.00 each with a maximum of $250.00
    Greater than one ton One ton or greater $50.00 each with a maximum of $500.00

     

    All rules and regulation so promulgated shall be approved by a majority of the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management Board by simple motion. Such permit shall be nonrefundable and nontransferable.

    (c)

    Proof of lawful disposal, in the form of receipts or trip tickets from a permitted disposal site, shall be provided to the Southwest Central Regional Solid Waste Management Board upon demand.
